Henna is a natural plant that has been used safely for body ornamentation for thousands of years. It has been used for medicinal, religious, and celebratory purposes by many different cultures.

Henna is a paste that leaves a red-brown stain on the skin when removed. Henna works by staining the top layers of skin. Everyone's skin stains differently, but typically, the more layers of skin, the darker and longer lasting your henna stain will be. Palms and soles of feet stain darkest. Tops of hands and tops of feet are the next best places. As the skin exfoliates, the henna stain will disappear, lasting normally from 1-3 weeks.

My henna is made from pure, natural henna powder, brewed black tea, lemon juice, molasses or honey, and a blend of essential oils. (There is no such thing as "black henna" -- please read this link for more info. )
